Beach Day with My Babies!

Time is moving SO fast; both of our younger kids have one toe out the door. Anthony (AJ) has completed community college and is transferring to a 4-year college to work towards his bachelor’s degree in the Fall. Kennedy will be starting her senior year of high school in September. Before we know it, they will be off on their own building new lives for themselves, so I try to take every opportunity to spend time with them and create memories.

With that, we recently planned a beach day, just the three of us and it was wonderful. We live about an hour from the shoreline and decided to take advantage of it. The ride down was pleasant as we listened to classic 70’s R&B music, reminisced on my childhood coming up in the 70’s, laughed and just enjoyed each other’s company. The day was perfect, the sun was shining, the beach wasn’t overcrowded, and the water was quite comfortable temperature wise. It was relaxing watching and listening to the waves, and just hanging out.

When you are spending a day at the beach, you don’t want to spend a lot of time preparing food, you want food that is easy to make, and that is refreshing and easy to eat. So, our beach day menu consisted of egg salad croissant sandwiches, sliced watermelon, trail mix, cheese and crackers, snack packs (chips, cheese doodles, Dorito’s, etc.) Kool Aid drinks and bottled water. Dessert was oversized (and delicious) Black & White cookies!

Our beach day adventure is one for the books. I thoroughly enjoyed this relaxing time with the kids.

We enjoyed it so much, that we are already planning another “Beach Day with my Babies” excursion for later this month … we’re going to try a different beach next time.
